Dear friends, there is no event too minute to teach you a lesson in this life. In every doing and undoing, there is an evident or not too evident lesson that somebody somewhere wants you to learn. As for me, I am sure the somebody in this context refers to rivals of Chelsea FC. I mean, we had a match against Arsenal and I was so sure that we would win. After the second goal, I kept telling myself to relax, all we need is a few substitutions, take some guys who are playing nonsense out and bring in some good legs. I figured that all we needed was a goal to boost our confidence.
Fast-forward to full time, we lost to Arsenal. I kept wondering, why on earth would we lose to Arsenal? Of all clubs, Arsenal. Even my coach was utterly devastated and the memes which began to circulate did not help. Conte was mocked and called Michael Jackson, suggesting that he only knows how to dance but cannot coach a team effectively. Back to the matter, our defeat was made more painful not necessarily because of the tactics but the club.
I mean, I've never liked Arsenal and it is not just about the coach, it's about some dose of pride. Yes, I have come to the point. The match made me realize that as a football fan, I was too proud of my club and it made me look down on the very club that humiliated us.
Transfer to everyday life. Nobody is too irrelevant or too small. If you can whoop somebody's ass today doesn't mean that they won't whoop yours tomorrow. Stay humble and don't brag, please don't brag. If you're too happy, kiss yourself.

With love from a Blue.
PS. My coach isn't Michael Jackson and, just watch. We will bounce back from the BLUES.

DeleteThere is always always lessons to be learnt from any situation, and key takeaway from any point made. Your sign-off words got me thinking about the glorious days of playing Bounce on Nokia phones, sigh!
