Station Chronicles

Injustice! I hate injustice with every inch of my hair! I will never understand why people choose to cut corners and cheat their fellow humans. Dear readers, I want to take you along this walk today. We are going to fight against corruption! We are going to report injustice! We are going to the station!
I recently did business with someone, Mr Xyz and he thought he could play smart and outsmart me. Imagine, outsmart me with this my 'Energy Saver' brain. After purchasing and paying for a product, I got home to realize that I was not given correct change. I put on my shoe and headed for the station.
Yes, one person must vomit my money. Hard earned cash. As soon as I got to the station, I presented my case to the fuel attendant. Yes, fuel station oh, not Police station. Who get power for Police?
I went to the fuel attendant and protested. I told him corruption was a very bad thing to do and he looked at me in a puzzled way. I had to explain to him that he had given me change short of #10 and this was not the first time. It was the seventh time he was doing this, saying that he didn't have change and he would give me later. This was extremely painful because yesterday when I wanted to board a bus from Agbara to Under Bridge I had only #40 on me and the conductor had insisted that it was #50. If only he had been paying me my previous ten nairas then maybe I would not have gone through what I did yesterday. I had to trek halfway to my destination and pay #30 after which I used the #10 to refill my dehydrated tank.
If nobody speaks out against fuel attendant embezzlement, Nigerian will not get better!

The Heartbroken Heartbreaker

It took me how long to write this? Probably a million years! This piece is long overdue! Ladies and gentlemen, especially ladies, please do not feel particularly attacked by this piece. I am trying very hard to be honest. Last night, I thought to myself what my response would be if people ever asked me if I've been heartbroken and before I knew it, I had a long speech about how unserious men can be and how women suffer as a result of this. Then it occurred to me that, in the real sense of things, I have never had my heart broken by anybody. Please, please, please, I am not forming wonder woman or holy than thou, it is the simple truth! I came to this realization because, I noticed that if there was ever a time that I felt terrible emotionally it was because of my own expectations and unrealistic guesses. I really don't like to write things about love and relationship and stuff because it gives my readers too much opportunity to get into my head and sometimes, imagine things ...

Friendly Enemies

Today,I will be focusing on five types of friends that we need to beware of.These are those who claim to be friends but are actually enemies. 1. ALWAYS ASKING NEVER GIVING.  Some friends have the habit of always asking for favours but when called upon for help, they always have the perfect excuse as to why they cannot help. Such people subtly send us the message that they are only hanging around us because of what they are benefitting from us. The moment you cannot help them, they leave! So, you need to let go.  2. ALWAYS RECEIVING NEVER APPRECIATING. When a friend never shows appreciation for gifts and favours, you need to be careful. It could be that the friend does not value you and your sacrifices. 3. ALWAYS COMPLAINING NEVER ENCOURAGING.  Do you have friends who do nothing but complain about how bad things always are? You need to beware. People who constantly complain and never encourage you are dangerous. They dampen your spirit, bring you down and fail to ...

Proud to be Incorruptible

The beauty of being a woman comes in various shades. It is the pride of being ‘unbewitchable’ unlike the male gender. For a woman can never be conquered by juju or black magic, only a man can. Only a man can be bewitched to lose his senses and become ‘snatchable’ by another women who disconnects him from his wife.  This in turn births another strength of a woman, a woman can break such ‘bewitching’ locks through prayer! Glory! Yes! Only a woman can pray her spouse out of infidelity for men are a breed immune to the gift of prayer. So when a woman is unfaithful, society knows, society can tell, a man is not expected to pray his wife back to her marriage for two reasons. One, she cannot be bewitched by another man for she is immune to juju and two, men cannot pray. The absence of the ‘bewitchableness’ of a woman is sometimes called into question particularly at burials of husbands. Yes, we try to make exceptions for women. Only widows can kill their husbands to inherit their pr...
