SOMETHING DEADLIER THAN HIV

Hello friends and family! Been off for a while yeah, thats what happens when you combine rigorous school work with blogging. However, because I love writing and sharing with my community of friends, I just cannot keep my hands off the keyboard.
Today, we are taking a look at something very very deadly . Deadlier than HIV as I said, it kills its carriers faster and even without their consent. Ladies and gentlemen, friends and family, I am referring to JEALOUSY.
Why do I think it is so deadly? Let's see

It hinders clear thinking
A jealous human does not think straight but thinks only to conquer competition. Sometimes, a jealous person tends to even see competition where it does not exist. When this happens, sometimes well meaning friends are despised and help is rejected.

Creates barriers
When jealousy pushes a man to reject help, his chances of success are trimmed. Nobody knows it all and that is why in the game of success we need at least two people to shoot us into the sky. Jealousy can make a man become unnecessarily suspicious of every tip and advice received. Being overly jealous makes you consider a lot of people as enemies.

It Shows you lack confidence
Someone once said, "when you are good, you have no reason to despise competition" . An overly jealous person sends a message to onlookers. To an extent, jealousy stems from insecurity. That is why confident people need not be jealous. When people notice signs of jealousy, they begin to move away because they feel you are not good enough.

  It Eats up
Just like the HIV , jealousy destroys you. It gets to a point  where all you think about is others. You stop doing things for fun and begin to do things just to seem to be the best . Now, we all know the popular saying "all  work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" . All rigorous work and no fun time with family and friends leaves a person  socially dead and malnourished. A normal person needs to be in check spiritually, mentally, physically and socially (You may add yours).

Some people say that a little bit of jealousy is healthy but I really cannot say. However, I do know that it is impossible to not be jealous although we all have different manifestations of it. It is however necessary to try and control it before it ruins our social life. Feel free to add your views! :)

The Heartbroken Heartbreaker

It took me how long to write this? Probably a million years! This piece is long overdue! Ladies and gentlemen, especially ladies, please do not feel particularly attacked by this piece. I am trying very hard to be honest. Last night, I thought to myself what my response would be if people ever asked me if I've been heartbroken and before I knew it, I had a long speech about how unserious men can be and how women suffer as a result of this. Then it occurred to me that, in the real sense of things, I have never had my heart broken by anybody. Please, please, please, I am not forming wonder woman or holy than thou, it is the simple truth! I came to this realization because, I noticed that if there was ever a time that I felt terrible emotionally it was because of my own expectations and unrealistic guesses. I really don't like to write things about love and relationship and stuff because it gives my readers too much opportunity to get into my head and sometimes, imagine things ...

To Copy or Not?

*Singing 9ice's 'photocopy no easy, you can never be like me' * Actually, photocopy is easy, and very cheap sef. In Ibadan you can photocopy a page for #2 if you know the right places. Anyway, I'm not here to talk about literal photocopy today but something metaphorical. First, I apologize for being AWOL, it wasn't deliberate. Now, to today's issue. Do you think it's a bad thing to copy people around you? In my opinion, it's not advisable even though it is not totally bad. The reason is simple. It is not bad to want to copy someone if you think that person is a better version of you. However, I think it's wrong to copy a person's every move. In my opinion, you both can be similar but yet different! To illustrate, I will use cake and wine. Cake and wine are similar because they are both edibles, but they are also different. The longer wine stays on the shelf, the better it gets! However, cake is best served hot I think. That is why people call...

Friendly Enemies

Today,I will be focusing on five types of friends that we need to beware of.These are those who claim to be friends but are actually enemies. 1. ALWAYS ASKING NEVER GIVING.  Some friends have the habit of always asking for favours but when called upon for help, they always have the perfect excuse as to why they cannot help. Such people subtly send us the message that they are only hanging around us because of what they are benefitting from us. The moment you cannot help them, they leave! So, you need to let go.  2. ALWAYS RECEIVING NEVER APPRECIATING. When a friend never shows appreciation for gifts and favours, you need to be careful. It could be that the friend does not value you and your sacrifices. 3. ALWAYS COMPLAINING NEVER ENCOURAGING.  Do you have friends who do nothing but complain about how bad things always are? You need to beware. People who constantly complain and never encourage you are dangerous. They dampen your spirit, bring you down and fail to ...
